US Warns of Strong Response as Iran’s Retaliatory Attacks Impact 12 Countries

The United States has warned that Iran’s latest military retaliation across the Middle East will receive a response after attacks reportedly affected multiple countries in the region.
The United States Central Command said Iranian forces have now launched attacks affecting 12 different countries while deliberately targeting civilian areas.
CENTCOM chief Admiral Brad Cooper accused Iran of recently firing drones toward residential neighborhoods in Bahrain during its latest wave of attacks.
Cooper described the strikes as unacceptable and warned that they would not go unanswered by the United States and its allies.
He added that Washington will continue working closely with regional partners to counter threats against civilians and protect security across the Middle East.
Reports indicate that Iranian missiles and drones have struck Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
NATO forces also intercepted and destroyed a missile that was reportedly heading toward Turkish airspace.
Iran has allegedly launched more than 500 ballistic and cruise missiles along with over 2,000 drones since the conflict began.
According to the Fars news agency, about 40 percent of the projectiles targeted Israel while the remaining 60 percent were aimed at United States military sites across the Arabian Peninsula.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi warned that any country supporting the United States and Israel militarily would become a legitimate target for Iranian retaliation.
Speaking in an interview with France 24, the minister said Iran had previously cautioned the international community against directly joining the war against the Islamic Republic.
Takht-Ravanchi insisted that Iranian officials had been negotiating with the United States in good faith and described the most recent talks in Geneva as successful before hostilities escalated.
He also confirmed Iran’s strikes against Kurdish groups in northern Iraq which Tehran claims are backed by the CIA and Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency.
According to him, the attacks were necessary to defend Iran’s sovereignty and national security interests.
Meanwhile Russian senior official Dmitry Medvedev criticized Gulf nations following the Iranian attacks and suggested that the United States only uses them strategically.
Medvedev also warned that American military bases in the region could become a security risk rather than protection.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced that its armed forces successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile aimed at Prince Sultan Air Base.
Videos circulating on social media early Saturday also showed powerful explosions in western Tehran near Mehrabad Airport and the Ekbatan district.
