BREAKING: MRS, Other Nigerian Stations Raise Fuel Prices After Dangote Refinery Hike

MRS and other Nigerian filling stations adjusted their petrol prices on Saturday, just hours after the Dangote Refinery increased its petrol price by N70 to N1,245 per liter on Friday.
MRS stations in Abuja and surrounding areas raised their prices by N100, from N1,267 to N1,367 per liter. Other stations, including Ranoil, Empire Energy, and AA Rano, also increased their prices, now selling at N1,440, N1,430, and N1,370 per liter, respectively.
An anonymous MRS station manager confirmed the price hike, attributing it to Dangote Refinery’s increase in its petrol price to N1,275 per liter.
This brings the price range for petrol at Nigerian stations to between N1,367 and N1,440 per liter. However, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited still sells petrol at N1,261 per liter.
The price hikes follow a surge in global crude oil prices, which crossed $110 per barrel due to the geopolitical impact of the Iran-U.S.-Israel tensions.
Polity Reporters reports that the Dangote Refinery supplies 61% of Nigeria’s domestic petrol consumption.
