Umahi orders legal action against Tracy

Works Minister, David Umahi, has instructed his legal team to take full legal action against Tracy Ohiri.

This follows her repeated allegations that Umahi owes her N280 million for campaign materials.

Ohiri made these claims on social media, which quickly went viral.

She also accused Umahi of sexual harassment.

However, Ohiri was arrested by security agencies and prosecuted for her allegations.

Her lawyer, Marshall Abubakar, intervened, leading to Ohiri deleting all her posts and issuing a public apology.

Despite this, Ohiri resumed her claims against Umahi days later.

In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaz, Umahi addressed the situation.

He said that during the lawyer’s intervention, he had offered to contribute one billion Naira if Ohiri provided credible evidence.

Umahi added that he was still awaiting the necessary evidence from Ohiri.

He also directed his legal team to pursue the matter in court to ensure the truth is revealed.

Umahi clarified that Barrister Abubakar acted selflessly and without financial gain in attempting to mediate the situation.

He emphasized that no money was exchanged between Abubakar and himself.

Umahi further stated that he had set two conditions for resolving the matter: the case should either go to court, or Ohiri must present verifiable evidence.

Umahi expressed that after years of silence, he felt compelled to address the matter.

He also thanked Nigerians for taking time to understand the facts surrounding the issue.
