Ghana Fires Black Coach After Consecutive Defeats

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has dismissed head coach Otto Addo just three months before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The decision, confirmed in a statement early on Tuesday, follows Ghana’s 2-1 loss to Germany in a friendly at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart, coming just days after a 5-1 defeat to Austria.
“The decision takes immediate effect,” the GFA announced, stating that a new technical direction for the national team would be revealed soon.
Addo, who had been in charge for 2 years and 16 days, leaves with a record of 8 wins, 5 draws, and 9 losses.
