Easter: FG Declares Public Holidays
The Federal Government has announced Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to celebrate this year’s Easter.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the government on Wednesday.

In a statement signed by Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Tunji-Ojo extended Easter greetings to Christians across Nigeria and abroad.
He urged Nigerians to embrace the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love, as demonstrated by the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Tunji-Ojo also established the importance of tolerance and community spirit, stressing that these values are crucial for fostering national unity.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies that promote national development, economic growth, and shared prosperity for all Nigerians.
