2027: Ogun Assembly Endorses Yayi For Governor 

The majority of Ogun State Assembly members have endorsed Nigerian Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for the 2027 gubernatorial election.

Yayi represents Ogun West Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The endorsement was given by 20 out of 26 members of the State House of Assembly.

The Majority Leader of the Assembly, Yusuf Sheriff Abiodun, spoke on behalf of the lawmakers at the Iwe-Iroyin Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

Abiodun cited Yayi’s experience and contributions to the state and the nation as reasons for their support.

He stated, “I am also using this opportunity to declare our unalloyed support for the gubernatorial bid of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.”

Earlier, the state lawmakers had endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.

They joined several governors and political heavyweights backing Tinubu’s re-election bid.
