Fani-Kayode, Omokri Hit Back at Dele Momodu

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, and ex-presidential aide, Reno Omokri, have criticized Ovation Magazine publisher, Dele Momodu, over recent remarks he made about them.

In a lengthy post on X Thursday, Momodu alleged that Fani-Kayode was preparing a backup plan in case he didn’t receive a political appointment from President Bola Tinubu.

Momodu also claimed that Fani-Kayode sought help from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar through intermediaries, calling him a “fish out of water” without power.

Reacting on his X account, Fani-Kayode attacked Momodu, calling him “THE PIMP” and accusing him of “blowing another gasket.”

“Dele Momodu has got his knickers in a twist once again. Poor soul. He is clearly tormented. There is nothing worse than watching a man who comes from a lineage of touts and pimps losing control,” Fani-Kayode said.

He added, “He calls me a thug, talks about my father and family, and claims I wanted to work with Atiku even though I left the PDP in 2021.”

“Regardless of what you say, I was born into the corridors of power, have served in power, and remain relevant in the power structures of our country for over 30 years.”

Fani-Kayode also took aim at Momodu’s career and family background, stating:

“All I know about you is that you were once a journalist, following Chief MKO Abiola like a court jester and collecting scraps from him for much of your life.

“You became a hustler and a photographer after he was imprisoned, and you ran for President a number of years ago, only securing a single vote — from your wife.”

“Outside of this, I don’t have time for you. I’ve been called to serve my country again, and that is where my focus is. The only thing that matters is Nigeria. Individuals like you and those you represent will never get near power.”

In a separate post, Reno Omokri also responded, calling Momodu “too immature for politics” and suggesting he focus on entertainment instead.

Omokri referred to past interactions with Momodu, saying: “I have NEVER reached out to you privately for reconciliation. NEVER. If you have evidence of that, please share it now.”

“The last time we exchanged words, I didn’t reach out to you privately to settle things or ask for publicity, as you claimed.”

“I called to warn you to always travel with aspirin or any blood thinners to prevent sudden death syndrome from Deep Vein Thrombosis due to frequent flights.”

Omokri continued: “I was nominated as an Ambassador by President Tinubu and my State Governor, and the three Senators from my state, along with a federal minister from Delta, all publicly supported me.”

“Dele, you should focus on hyping fading Big Brother contestants and leave politics to those with enough resilience to handle barbs and strike back in kind.”
