Iran Warns Starmer, Says British Lives at Risk

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has issued a stern warning to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, accusing him of jeopardizing British lives by allowing UK military bases to be used for US-Israeli strikes on Iran.

In a strongly worded post on X on Friday, Araghchi criticized Starmer for involving the UK in the ongoing Israel-US conflict against Iran, a role he argued the British public overwhelmingly opposes.

“The vast majority of the British people don’t want any part in the Israel-US war on Iran,” Araghchi stated.

He further added, “By disregarding the will of his own people, Mr. Starmer is putting British lives at risk by permitting UK bases to be used in attacks on Iran. Iran will exercise its right to self-defence.”

This warning comes after reports surfaced that the UK had allowed the US to use British military facilities to target Iranian-linked threats in the critical Strait of Hormuz.

The authorization followed sharp criticism from US President Donald Trump, who called NATO allies “cowards” for failing to contribute warships to secure the crucial waterway.
