Osimhen Hails Davido, Wizkid, & Burna Boy as Global Legends

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has showered praise on Nigeria’s leading musicians, calling Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy legends who are putting Nigeria’s music on the global stage.

Osimhen made the comments during a Twitch livestream with renowned Nigerian comedian Carter Efe in the early hours of Saturday.

When asked about his connection with the music stars, the footballer revealed that he has met them in person and is a big fan of their music.

“I’ve met them in person, of course. They’re doing amazing things. I really love these guys. What they are doing is putting our country on the international map in ways that are extraordinary,” Osimhen said.

He went on to express how proud Nigerians feel when their music is played in clubs around the world.

“It’s amazing to hear Davido’s, Wizkid’s, and Burna Boy’s songs in clubs. When people hear these songs, they say, ‘This is Davido’ or ‘This is Wizkid.’ And I get to say, ‘Yes, these artists are from Nigeria,’” he added.

Osimhen also pointed out that the recognition of Nigerian music globally is a huge source of pride for the country.

“They’ll tell you that Nigeria is blessed with so many talented artists. That alone gives us bragging rights,” he concluded.
