The Nigerian government is planning to abolish the Common Entrance Examination for junior secondary school students.

Instead, a Learner Identification Number will be introduced to track students from primary to secondary school.

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, confirmed this change while speaking to journalists in Lagos, stating that the Common Entrance Exam would gradually be replaced by Continuous Assessment (CA).

The CA will provide a comprehensive record of a student’s progress from primary school, allowing for smoother transitions between schools.
