Ogun Gets New Commissioner of Police

Bode Ojajuni has officially resumed duties as the new Commissioner of Police in Ogun State.
He took office on Monday at the command’s headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Ojajuni, the 38th Commissioner of Police in the state, replaces CP Lanre Ogunlow, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG).
Ojajuni, a former Lagos State Public Relations Officer (PPRO) and Interpol Commissioner, joined the police force in 1996 as a cadet ASP.
In his maiden press briefing, Ojajuni emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for abuse of office, indiscipline, and corruption.
He stressed the importance of treating the public with respect and professionalism in all interactions.
“Discipline is the bedrock of the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.
Ojajuni made it clear that he would not tolerate misconduct among officers and called for strict adherence to the rule of law.
He also stated that the X-Squad and the Police Monitoring Unit would be strengthened to ensure internal discipline and professionalism.
He reassured the public that the safety and security of Ogun State would remain his top priority.
Ojajuni promised to be accessible, responsive, and committed to proactive policing strategies to maintain peace across the state.
