- The Naira weakened to N1,425 per dollar in the official market, its lowest in two months, as rising dollar demand due to Middle East conflict caused a N27 depreciation from last weekend’s N1,398 rate, according to Central Bank of Nigeria data.
- Rivers State Police arrested four suspected kidnappers linked to multiple abductions, recovered weapons, and foiled another planned operation, with the group reportedly collecting a total of N9 million in ransoms.
- Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, pledged to reclaim Kwara State communities from bandits and insisted criminals will not force residents from their ancestral lands during a Monday visit with security officials and community leaders.
- Opeyemi Lawal died after allegedly being beaten by Marina car park officials in Lagos Island on Sunday over theft accusations, as detailed by Facebook user Sheriff Ojon.
