Oyedele replaces Dr. Doris Anite-Uzoka, who has been moved to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State.
His confirmation by the Senate occurred on March 11, 2026, just one day after President Tinubu requested his screening.
Prior to his appointment, Oyedele was the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.
In this role, he spearheaded efforts to overhaul Nigeria’s tax system, improving fiscal policy and tax reforms.
