Defections: PDP No Longer Able to Call Itself a Political Party – Morka

Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, has attributed the recent wave of defections from the PDP to internal instability and the opposition’s failure to offer a credible political platform.

Speaking on Arise Television’s morning show, Morka stressed that the PDP’s internal dysfunction has rendered it incapable of functioning as an effective political party.

“The PDP can no longer call itself a political party,” Morka stated.

He further added that the party’s ongoing crises prevent it from providing a sensible and actionable platform for its members’ political aspirations.

Morka framed the defections to the APC as a direct endorsement of the ruling party’s vision and capabilities, asserting that it reflects the APC’s ability to offer what the opposition cannot.

Addressing concerns over the emergence of a one-party state, Morka dismissed such claims as misleading, noting that they fail to account for Nigeria’s democratic history and the current political landscape.

His comments come amid a growing number of defections, particularly by governors, from the PDP to the APC.
