Chelsea Hit with £10.75m Fine, Transfer Ban

Chelsea have been slapped with a £10.75 million fine by the Premier League and a one-window transfer ban, which will be suspended for two years.

This penalty follows historical breaches of regulations under former owner Roman Abramovich’s tenure.

The Premier League issued the fine and ban in a statement released on Monday.

The punishment follows Chelsea’s voluntary self-reporting of potential rule violations.

The club was charged by the Football Association last September after an investigation.

An independent commission found Chelsea had violated rules related to financial reporting, third-party investment, and youth development.

The penalty comes after Boehly’s BlueCo consortium acquired Chelsea from Abramovich in 2022.
