With the odds against them, Guardiola stated that their main goal in the return leg is simply to win.
Ahead of the match at the Etihad, Guardiola told reporters, “I don’t have a specific plan for the game against Real Madrid, apart from just trying.”
He added, “In a match, many things can happen. The first thing we have to do is try to win.”
Guardiola also affirmed that if he needs to explain faith to his players after 10 years, it would be a problem.
“I’m pretty sure we’ll give it a try. We have a great opportunity,” he concluded.
