UNIJOS Postpones Exams Following Deadly Attack in Jos

The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has announced the postponement of all examinations scheduled for Monday and Tuesday following a deadly attack in Anguwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The university’s management urged students and staff to remain indoors and stay vigilant due to the escalating security concerns in the area.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Deputy Registrar for Information and Public Relations, Emmanuel Madugu, confirmed that the decision was made due to the heightened tension in the community, where many university staff and students reside.

Madugu stated that the Vice-Chancellor approved the suspension of exams to ensure the safety of the university community.

The university also advised caution in movements both within and outside the campus and recommended that members report any signs of security breaches to the University Security Division.

UNIJOS management assured the community that they are collaborating with security agencies to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as needed.
