Trump Claims US-Israel Conflict Has Led to Regime Change in Iran

US President Donald Trump has asserted that the ongoing conflict between the US and Israel has resulted in a regime change in Iran.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump emphasized his belief that a deal with Tehran could soon be reached, but he insisted that the leadership in Iran has been altered.

“I believe we will reach an agreement with them, quite certain… but we have experienced regime change,” Trump said, referencing the Iranian leaders who have been killed during the conflict.

“We are engaging with individuals who are unlike any we have dealt with previously,” he added, calling the current Iranian leadership “an entirely different group of individuals.”

The President has made similar claims before, with White House press secretary Karoline Leavit reinforcing the point last week. When asked about Trump’s ongoing assertions of regime change, she responded, “Has it not?”

Leavit continued, “Their complete leadership has been eliminated, and no one has genuinely seen or heard from this purported new leader, so would you not agree that there has been a change in the regime?”

She further supported Trump’s statement, noting that the shift in leadership aligns with the President’s claims.
