Sowore Blasts Reception for Tinubu After Return

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has criticised the reception accorded President Bola Tinubu after his return to Nigeria following about a month abroad.

Sowore reacted in a post on X while sharing a video of Tinubu being welcomed at the airport.

He alleged that Nigeria had repeatedly been used as “health insurance” for presidents whom he described as “sickly and worn-out.”

“We’ve been here before: Nigeria is repeatedly used as health insurance for sickly and worn-out presidents, who are then packaged and presented to the public in staged airport ceremonies while the same failed performances are repeated and the country is further destroyed,” Sowore wrote.

He compared Tinubu’s administration with those of former Presidents Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Muhammadu Buhari, alleging that a similar pattern had occurred under the three administrations.

“The same actors during the Umaru Yar’Adua and Muhammadu Buhari administrations and now Tinubu,” he added.

Sowore also criticised those behind the reception, saying they expected Nigerians to move on without questioning the situation.

“No shame, no regrets and they want you to move on as though nothing is wrong,” he wrote.
