Veteran Actor,  ‘Ogogo’ Is Dead 

Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has died at the age of 66 after battling stage four cancer, with his family confirming the sad development on Sunday.

The actor’s daughter, Kira Taiwo, announced his death in an emotional social media post, where she expressed grief over the loss of her father and confirmed that the veteran actor had passed away after his health struggle.

Ogogo’s death came days after his family revealed that he was battling advanced cancer and appealed for urgent medical assistance from Nigerians, healthcare professionals and organisations with access to specialised treatment.

Before his death, his daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, had shared emotional appeals seeking help for their father, explaining that the family was searching for possible treatment options after learning about the severity of his condition.

The actor, whose real name was Taiwo Hassan, was one of the respected figures in Yoruba Nollywood, where he built a long-standing career through memorable performances that earned him admiration among film lovers across Nigeria and beyond.

Known for his commanding presence on screen, Ogogo featured in several Yoruba-language films and became recognised as one of the actors who contributed greatly to the growth and popularity of indigenous Nigerian cinema.
