US Reached Out After Osun Election Warning — Davido

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has claimed that the United States government contacted him after he raised concerns over Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
The singer had earlier appealed to US President Donald Trump to pay attention to the situation in Osun, warning of possible violence, intimidation and disruption of the electoral process ahead of the poll.
Davido, who has been vocal about issues surrounding the Osun election, urged the international community to take note of developments in the state.
Hours after his appeal, the singer returned to his X account to announce that US officials had reached out to him.
“Dem don reach out ooooo. DEY PLAY! U think the rest of the world is undemocratic like Una! Una go see something,” he wrote.
Davido, however, did not disclose the details of the communication or the response he received from the US government.
The singer, who is supporting the re-election bid of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has been actively involved in political activities ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
