Chelsea Lead Transfer Race
Chelsea have emerged as the biggest spenders in European football during the 2026 summer transfer window, leading a list of the top 10 clubs that have invested the most money on new signings ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Premier League giants have spent €407.95 million on player recruitment, placing them above other major European clubs as they continue their squad rebuilding project under manager Xabi Alonso.
Tottenham Hotspur occupy the second position on the list after committing €354.7 million to strengthen their squad, with the club making several high-profile additions as they attempt to return to European contention.
Arsenal rank third among Europe’s biggest spenders after investing €227.1 million, with Mikel Arteta’s side reinforcing key areas of the squad as they prepare for another push for domestic and Champions League success.
Real Madrid are fourth on the list with €225 million spent, as the Spanish giants continue their tradition of strengthening with elite talents while maintaining their position among Europe’s football powerhouses.
Ipswich Town, who have made an ambitious return to the top level of English football, surprisingly occupy fifth place after spending €178.35 million, ahead of several traditional European giants.
Manchester United are sixth with €173.2 million spent, while Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus follow with €160.85 million and €157.95 million respectively as Serie A clubs increase their investment in squad improvement.
Coventry City complete the ninth position with €148.55 million spent, an indication of the growing financial power of English clubs, while Roma round off the top 10 after committing €123.5 million to new players.
Chelsea’s huge spending has been driven by a major squad overhaul, with the club completing expensive deals including the reported €138 million signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, alongside other additions aimed at strengthening different positions.
Tottenham’s spending spree has also attracted attention after the club invested heavily in players such as Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke and Savinho as part of Roberto De Zerbi’s rebuilding plans.
The spending pattern highlights the continued financial dominance of Premier League clubs, with English teams accounting for several positions among Europe’s biggest investors during the current transfer window.
