BREAKING: Wike-Supported PDP Holds First NEC Meeting After Reopening Headquarters

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held its first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday at its national headquarters in Abuja.

This meeting comes after the unsealing of the party’s secretariat last week.

The secretariat had been sealed in November due to a leadership dispute between factions led by Tanimu Turaki and Abdulrahman Mohammed.

Both factions had claimed control over the party’s National Working Committee.

In March, the Court of Appeal annulled the Ibadan convention that had led to Turaki’s leadership.

This ruling allowed the Mohammed faction to hold a separate convention in Abuja.

The Mohammed faction is backed by Minister Nyesom Wike.

Key political figures, including Wike, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, are expected at the meeting.

The meeting marks a critical moment in the PDP’s internal crisis.

The party aims to reposition itself for upcoming elections.
