Any Man Who Says He Can’t Die for His Woman Is a Fool – Odumodublvck

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has declared that any man who says he cannot die for his woman is a “fool”, arguing that a husband is expected to love his wife with the same sacrificial devotion Christ demonstrated towards the Church.

The rapper made the assertion during an episode of the In Motion Podcast on YouTube, shared on Friday, where he also spoke about his controversial feud with fellow rapper Blaqbonez.

Speaking about his philosophy on relationships, Odumodublvck said, “Any man wey talk say he no fit die for him woman na fool!”

Explaining his position from a Christian perspective, the rapper cited the biblical injunction for husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the Church, pointing to Christ’s death as the ultimate expression of that love.

“Because me now, I’m a Christian. See, this is my power. And Jesus said, Christ said we should love our wife like Christ loved the church. And what did Christ do for the church? He died for the church,” he said.

Odumodublvck also expressed his expectation that he would die before his wife because she is younger than him, adding that he found the reverse difficult to contemplate.

“I’m probably going to die before my wife, in Jesus’ name. Amen… Why should my wife die before me? When she’s younger than me? Doesn’t make any sense. I should die before my wife,” he said.

The rapper said he expected his wife to assume responsibility for the family after his death, particularly by taking care of their children and ensuring that his affairs were properly distributed.

“And when I die, it’s my wife that will now take everything and distribute to my children so there will not be wahala. So it’s my wife that will continue whatever it is that I started,” he said.

Odumodublvck further attributed his disposition towards women and money to his upbringing, saying his mother’s generosity had influenced his own attitude towards giving.

“Like me now, my mom is a cheerful giver. If you give me one million Naira now, before you know it, I’ve sent it to ten people. I don’t know how to hold money. So my girlfriend will be holding my money for me,” he said.

He also used the position of the queen in chess to illustrate what he considers the importance of women in relationships, describing the queen as the most powerful piece on the chessboard.

“So if you don’t understand the concept of loving a woman and putting a woman where a woman is meant to be. Like if you look at chess, the strongest piece on the board is the queen,” he said.

He added, “If the queen goes, just forget that game. Forget the game. The king is exposed.”

The rapper also addressed the perception that he is misogynistic, dismissing the label as an unfair characterisation of his views and conduct towards women.

“They think I’m a misogynist,” he said.

Asked whether the perception bothered him, Odumodublvck replied, “It bothers me a lot. A whole lot. Because it’s such an unfair thing to say.”

He subsequently questioned whether a man who professes a willingness to die for his partner could reasonably be described as a misogynist.

“Okay, now I want to die for my girlfriend. Will a misogynist die for his woman?” he asked.
