Phyna Floors Nkechi Blessing, Carter Efe Defeats Speed Darlington

Reality television star Phyna and skit maker Carter Efe emerged winners in the celebrity boxing bouts at Balmoral Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring event, held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on October 1, 2026.
Ghana’s Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah also dethroned Godday “Zodsolo” Appah in the main event to claim the WBO African Light Heavyweight Continental Championship.
Phyna, whose real name is Josephina Otabor, knocked out actress Nkechi Blessing in their scheduled four round contest to become the winner of Nigeria’s first female celebrity boxing bout.
Speaking after the fight, the former Big Brother Naija winner called out Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia, accusing her of repeatedly disturbing her through direct messages.
“I came in, and I kept my cool and did the thing. Now I would like to fight Etinosa. I think it is time I teach her a lesson,” Phyna said.
Etinosa, who watched the knockout from ringside, accepted the challenge.
“I have been advising you to carry the Edo name with pride. We do not run from any fight. I accept the challenge fully,” she said.
Phyna received N50 million as the winner of the bout and indicated that she intends to pursue a professional boxing career.
In the second celebrity bout, Carter Efe dominated Speed Darlington throughout their four round crossover contest before stopping the musician, who had stopped moving, to win by technical knockout.

The victory extended Efe’s unbeaten record in the Chaos in the Ring celebrity boxing series.
Efe had previously defeated singer Habeeb “Portable” Badmus in a celebrity boxing contest on May 1, 2026, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, winning the three round bout by unanimous decision after all three judges scored it 30-27 in his favour.
The rivalry between Efe and Speed Darlington intensified before their October meeting, with both entertainers exchanging confrontational remarks during the build up before settling their differences inside the ring.
In the main event, Appah surrendered his WBO African Light Heavyweight Continental Championship to Gyimah, who secured a unanimous decision victory to dethrone the Nigerian champion.
The event brought together celebrity entertainers and professional boxers for a night of high profile contests, rivalries and championship action.
The card was broadcast live on SuperSport and DAZN and powered by Bet9ja.
