Teachers’ Day: Bibire Salutes Oyo Teachers, Says Makinde Committed to Their Safety, Welfare

The Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Security Matters, Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, has congratulated teachers across the state on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.
In a statement commemorating the day, Bibire described their immense contributions to the upbringing and education of children as invaluable to the future of the state.
Against this backdrop, he said Governor Seyi Makinde remains unequivocally committed to creating a safe environment in which teachers can discharge their responsibilities with confidence while students receive their education without fear.
He maintained that the safety of teachers and pupils remains a fundamental component of the administration’s comprehensive security efforts, stressing that meaningful learning cannot take root in an environment where fear and insecurity have gained a foothold.
Accordingly, the Special Adviser urged teachers to remain vigilant and make effective use of the state’s 615 emergency line whenever they observe anything suspicious or encounter any security concern within or around their schools.
He explained that the 615 line provides a direct channel through which all and sundry can alert security responders, while relevant authorities can receive credible information and respond with the requisite promptness.
Consequently, Bibire assured teachers that the Makinde administration would continue to deploy every measure within its capacity to protect them, safeguard schools, and cultivate an atmosphere in which teachers can discharge their duties with peace of mind while children receive their education without fear.
With equal attention to their welfare, he said the government would continue to prioritize the well-being of teachers, noting that those entrusted with moulding the intellectual and moral foundations of the next generation deserve an environment that enables them to give their very best.
In the same vein, Bibire commended teachers across Oyo State for their patience, commitment and daily devotion to educating and guiding the young ones, and wished them a happy and rewarding Teachers’ Day.
“Happy Teachers’ Day to all our teachers across Oyo State, and thank you for the work you do every day to prepare our children for the future,” Bibire said partly.
