BREAKING: 29 Dead in Adamawa Attack, Governor Promises Justice

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has confirmed that 29 people lost their lives in a deadly attack on Guyaku community in Gombi Local Government Area.
The attack, which occurred on Sunday, was described by the governor as “tragic and unacceptable” during his visit to the affected community on Monday.
“My heart breaks for the people of Guyaku… This act of cowardice is an affront to our humanity and will not go unpunished,” Fintiri stated in a message shared on his official X account.
The governor assured residents that the state government is increasing security operations to restore calm and prevent further violence in the area.
He also vowed that those responsible for the attack would face justice.
During his visit, Fintiri met with grieving families and reiterated his administration’s commitment to working with security agencies to improve safety across Adamawa State.
Residents remain on edge, with many—especially women and children—fleeing their homes out of fear of renewed attacks.
Community leader Aggrey Ali disclosed that the attackers operated for several hours, destroying property and places of worship during the assault.
This latest tragedy follows a similar attack in Wuro Ladde community in Hong Local Government Area, raising further concerns over security in the state.
Authorities are working to stabilize the affected communities and prevent further violence.
