UEFA Names 2025/26 Europa League Team of the Season
UEFA has officially unveiled the 2025/26 Europa League Team of the Season following the conclusion of the tournament.
The announcement came after Aston Villa defeated SC Freiburg 3-0 in the final held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Aston Villa dominated the selection, with four of their players included in the best XI chosen by UEFA’s Technical Observer Group.
The official Europa League Team of the Season features Aston Villa’s goalkeeper, three defenders from Braga, Freiburg, Nottingham Forest, and Celta, three midfielders including two from Aston Villa, and forwards from Real Betis, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa.
Fans have praised the recognition of Villa players, saying it reflects the club’s dominant performance and Unai Emery’s tactical brilliance throughout the competition.
Some supporters expressed disappointment that key performers from Freiburg and other finalists were overlooked, generating debates on social media over the fairness of the selection.
