Judges of the Federal High Court of Nigeria will begin their 2026 Easter vacation on April 7, the Chief Judge of the court, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, has announced.

Justice Tsoho made the disclosure on Friday in Abuja, explaining that the break is in line with the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019, as amended.

According to him, the vacation will run from Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and conclude on Monday, April 13, 2026.

However, throughout the vacation period, the core judicial divisions in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu will remain accessible to the public strictly for urgent matters.

This was contained in a statement issued by the court’s Director of Information, Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, who explained that only cases involving the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest or release of vessels, and issues of pressing national interest will be handled by the vacation judges.
