JAMB Releases Results for 632,788 Candidates in Fastest UTME Result Release

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results for 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), calling it one of the fastest result releases in the board’s history.

On Friday night, JAMB announced that candidates who took the exam on Thursday, April 16, 2026, can now check their results.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, shared the information via his X handle, instructing candidates to send “UTMERESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019 using the phone number they registered for the exam.

He noted that while candidates can view their results, the printing of official result slips will be available at a later date.

“The results for the candidates who sat the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16 April 2026, are now available for viewing,” the statement read.

JAMB warned against any attempts to falsify or manipulate examination scores, stressing that tampering with official result messages is a criminal offense.

The board revealed that two candidates and one parent have already been arrested for allegedly manipulating UTME results using artificial intelligence and other digital tools.

Dr. Benjamin emphasized that all offenders would be prosecuted, stating that anyone found guilty of examination malpractice or score manipulation will face severe legal consequences.

The 2026 UTME began on April 16 and is scheduled to run until April 22 at various examination centres across the country.
