Police Arrest Four In Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers and alleged cultists during a raid on their hideout in the Soka area of Oluyole Local Government Area of the state.

The operation, according to the police, followed actionable intelligence on the activities of a criminal group allegedly responsible for violent incidents within Ibadan and its surrounding communities.

In a statement issued in Ibadan on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit acted on credible intelligence that the suspects were planning another attack.

“At about 6 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2026, our operatives received intelligence that members of a notorious gang known for terrorising residents across Ibadan metropolis were active in the area and preparing for another operation,” the statement said.

He added that the swift response of the operatives led to the arrest of the suspects at their hideout before they could execute their alleged plans.
