Troops Arrest Fake Major General

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a man suspected of impersonating a retired major general in Kaduna State.
Security sources, as reported by counter-insurgency publication Zagazola Makama, said the suspect was picked up on Wednesday at a location identified as the “Strike Force Base” in the Sabo area of Kaduna following intelligence-led operations.
The report stated that the arrest was carried out around 9:14 a.m. after military operatives tracked and moved in on the suspect based on credible intelligence.
The suspect, who is currently in military custody and undergoing preliminary investigation, is alleged to have been posing as retired Major General A.T. Ibrahim.
“The individual is being interrogated after being found in possession of false identity claims suggesting he was a retired senior military officer,” the report said.
Authorities said he will be transferred to the appropriate agencies for further investigation and possible prosecution after initial military procedures are concluded.
Investigations are also ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the alleged impersonation, including his motive and whether other individuals were involved in the act.
