WORLD CUP UPDATE: Six Teams Seal Round of 32 Spots as Knockout Race Intensifies

Six teams have officially booked their places in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32 as the group stage progresses across multiple venues.

Co-hosts Mexico and the United States are among the early qualifiers, securing progression after strong performances in their respective groups.

Germany, Argentina, France, and Norway have also confirmed their places in the knockout stage following decisive group-stage results that put them beyond reach of elimination.

Argentina’s qualification was highlighted by a 2–0 win over Austria, a match in which Lionel Messi scored twice to set a new all-time World Cup scoring record.

Meanwhile, four teams have been eliminated from the competition after failing to accumulate enough points in the group phase to remain in contention for qualification.

The tournament format allows 32 teams to progress to the knockout stage, made up of the top two teams from each group and the eight best third-placed teams, ensuring a highly competitive race for the remaining spots.
