Police authorities said the children were found under circumstances that raised concern, prompting immediate intervention by officers who secured them and moved them into protective custody pending further investigation and family tracing.

The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, Musa Mohammed, stated that the Command is actively seeking any information that could help reunite the minors with their biological parents or lawful guardians.

He urged residents who recognise the children or have relevant details about their families to contact the Police Command through designated hotlines, including the Public Relations Office and the Officer-in-Charge of the Gender Unit.

Officials also confirmed that the children are currently in safe custody under the supervision of relevant welfare and protection agencies while investigations continue.
