A 30-year-old school security guard attached to Radiant Glory Academy, Umuichichi, Aba, Abia State, Chidiebere Kalu, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment for sexually abusing a 10-year-old female pupil.

The judgment was delivered on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, by the Family Court sitting at the Magistrate Court in Aba, following a criminal case initiated after the child’s family reported the incident.

Kalu was convicted on two counts bordering on indecent assault and instilling fear in a minor after the court found him guilty of offences committed against the pupil within the school environment.
