True Sons Are Led, They Do Not Lead Themselves — Rev Samson Ajetomobi

The President of The Men of Issachar Vision Incorporated (MIV), Rev. Samson Ajetomobi, has stated that true sons are those who are led, not those who chart their own course.

He made this known during his message titled “Unveiling Sons,” delivered at the Ministers Conference themed Unveiling: The Manifestation of Sons,” organized by Redemption Grace Church as part of its 10th anniversary celebration.

He illustrated with a clear example that just as a child in his formative years relies on his parents for guidance, true sons of God depend on God for leadership, as stated in Romans 8:14, which says that those led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.

Rev. Ajetomobi, who doubles as Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Oyo Chapter, added that true sons are those who completely trust in God’s ability to lead them without questioning what lies ahead.

Speaking on the relationship between spiritual fathers and sons, he advised fathers to avoid being exploitative or manipulative, and instead raise sons who can grow and do great and mighty things even in their absence.

This was as he urged true sons to live above fear and be bold in order to fulfill the purpose given to them by God, emboldening them that they have not been given a spirit of fear, but of adoption, which will enable them to cry “Abba Father,” according to Romans 8:15.

The cleric further explained the difference that exists in being a child, a son, and a man, saying a child is born, a son is given responsibility when he has grown to a level of trust as seen in Isaiah 9:6, and a man is one who has reached full spiritual maturity, as reflected in 1 Chronicles 12:32.

The therefore stressed that anyone who desires to be unveiled as son must understand and follow certain responsibilities.

He said the first is to maintain a perpetual relationship with the Father so as to be known by Him, noting that many call on God but only true sons are recognized by Him.

The second is to reflect the likeness of the Father by developing His character and living by His standards.

The third is to love righteousness and hate sin, adding that a true son will avoid secret sin and live uprightly because sin, as he said, opens the window for the enemy to attack.

The fourth is to walk in love by loving, forgiving, and supporting one another, choosing collaboration over competition, and showing through these actions that they belong to God, who is love.

The fifth is to accept correction and discipline, explaining that anyone who resists correction cannot grow into true sonship.

The sixth, he said, is obedience, stressing that a true son will at all times obey the Father, as confirmed in John 14:15.

The seventh is to maintain deep intimacy with God and with their spiritual father, while also noting that a true father is not afraid to open up about his weaknesses or seek prayers from those he leads.

Reverend Ajetomobi concluded by saying that true sons are those who steadfastly love their father, trust his direction, and remain committed to his leadership regardless of the challenges.

Present at yesterday’s conference were Pastor Paul Oni and his wife, Pastor Olufemi Olutayo-Salawu, the President of CAC Revival Centre Worldwide, along with his entourage, as well as other great and anointed ministers of God.
