Zelenskyy Alerts Citizens to Potential Russian Missile Threat, Advises Immediate Shelter

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a warning after intelligence reports indicated a potential Russian missile strike targeting Ukraine, involving the Oreshnik intermediate-range missile system.
In a public address, Zelenskyy revealed that the intelligence came from Ukraine’s Western partners in the United States and Europe and is currently under verification by local authorities.
He highlighted signs of preparations for a coordinated aerial assault on Ukrainian territory, including Kyiv, with multiple types of weaponry potentially involved.
The President urged citizens to take air-raid alerts seriously and immediately seek shelter amid heightened military activity.
“We are observing signs of preparation for a combined strike on Ukrainian territory… please protect your lives – use shelters,” Zelenskyy said.
He also called on international partners to increase pressure on Moscow, warning that failure to prevent escalation could create a dangerous precedent for global security.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine is bolstering its air defense systems and remains prepared to respond to any incoming attacks.
The announcement comes amid ongoing tensions and continued cross-border strikes in the Russia–Ukraine conflict, now in its fourth year.
