Police Rescue Ex-Power Minister’s Sister & Twin Sons, Kill Two Kidnappers

The Nigeria Police Force successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin boys, Peter and Paul, during a late-night operation at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
A source within the Force stated that two suspected kidnappers were neutralized in a gunfight with police officers, and two firearms were recovered from the suspects.
The victims, who include the younger sister of former Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu, had been abducted around 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while en route to drop the children at school.
Police sources revealed that continuous intelligence gathering and tactical pressure forced the kidnappers into a confrontation with operatives, which ultimately led to the safe rescue of the mother and her children.
The source added that security personnel are still combing nearby areas for other members of the gang, some of whom are believed to have fled with gunshot injuries.
