Yamal Warns France Ahead of World Cup Semi Final, Says Spain Have No Fear

Spain forward Lamine Yamal has declared that La Roja will face France without fear in their FIFA World Cup semi final clash, insisting that the European giants should be the side worried ahead of the highly anticipated encounter.

Yamal made the statement after Spain secured a place in the last four of the tournament with a dramatic 2 1 victory over Belgium in the quarter final.

Spain booked their semi final ticket after Mikel Merino scored a late winning goal to complete a comeback victory over Belgium, keeping Luis de la Fuente’s side on course for their first World Cup final appearance since winning the competition in 2010.

Speaking after the victory, Yamal said Spain have no reason to fear France, pointing to their recent success against Didier Deschamps’ team in major competitions.

The Barcelona youngster highlighted that Spain defeated France in the semi final of Euro 2024 and also recorded another victory against Les Bleus in the UEFA Nations League, giving the team confidence ahead of their World Cup meeting.

Yamal said Spain believe they are among the strongest teams at the tournament and are ready for the challenge posed by the reigning European powerhouse.

The 18 year old forward has been one of Spain’s standout players during the tournament, with his creativity, attacking movement, and ability to influence games making him one of the major talking points of the competition.
