NYSC announces Date for 2026 Batch B Stream II, releases call-up numbers

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced Wednesday, August 5, 2026, as the commencement date for the 2026 Batch B Stream II orientation course for prospective corps members.

The scheme also informed prospective corps members that their call-up numbers have been made available, allowing them to proceed with the next stage of their mobilisation process ahead of the three-week orientation exercise.

The NYSC orientation programme marks the first major phase of the mandatory one-year national service, where graduates undergo paramilitary training, lectures, skills acquisition sessions and other activities designed to prepare them for service.

The announcement is expected to enable eligible graduates to complete necessary preparations, including printing their call-up documents and making arrangements for movement to their assigned orientation camps.

The NYSC has continued to advise prospective corps members to prioritise safety while travelling to their various camps, particularly warning against embarking on night journeys because of security concerns on some routes.

The scheme urged prospective corps members to plan their journeys properly and ensure they arrive at their respective camps within the approved registration period.

The NYSC also advised participants to be careful of fraudulent individuals and unofficial platforms circulating fake mobilisation information, stressing that updates concerning deployment, call-up letters and orientation exercises should be obtained through recognised NYSC channels.

The 2026 Batch B Stream II orientation exercise follows the earlier Batch B Stream I programme, which commenced in June 2026 after the release of call-up letters and mobilisation details for that stream.

Prospective corps members are expected to report to their designated orientation camps with their required documents, including call-up letters, statements of results and other necessary identification materials.

The NYSC was established in 1973 as a platform for promoting national unity, encouraging interaction among Nigerian youths from different backgrounds and contributing to national development through youth service.

The scheme has urged all 2026 Batch B Stream II prospective corps members to remain alert, follow official instructions and prepare adequately ahead of the commencement of the orientation course.
