Alli Unveils 2027 Campaign Team

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has begun preparations for the 2027 governorship election with the appointment of key leaders into his campaign organization.

Alli appointed Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe, a grassroots politician and legal practitioner, as the Director General of his campaign council, describing the appointment as part of efforts to build a strong structure ahead of the election.

The announcement was contained in a statement personally signed by the Oyo South Senator and made available to journalists in Ibadan, where he said Aderibigbe was selected because of his experience, leadership qualities and understanding of the political landscape of the state.

Alli said the new campaign director general had demonstrated commitment to grassroots politics, having previously served as Chairman of Akinyele Local Government Area and later as Special Adviser on Transport during the administration of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

The APC candidate described Aderibigbe as a leader with the capacity to mobilise party members and coordinate activities aimed at strengthening the party’s chances in the 2027 governorship race.

Aderibigbe, according to Alli, would deploy his political experience and administrative background to work with other party leaders and stakeholders in driving the campaign organisation across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State.

The development comes as the Oyo APC intensifies efforts to consolidate its position ahead of the next governorship election, with party leaders earlier endorsing Alli as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 contest.

The endorsement followed a high level meeting of APC stakeholders in Ibadan, where party leaders said the decision was aimed at promoting unity and avoiding internal divisions ahead of the election.

Alli, who currently represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, emerged as the APC’s focal point for the governorship race as the party begins early mobilization efforts across the state.

The appointment of Aderibigbe signals the commencement of the APC candidate’s campaign structure as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
