Ibadan Northwest/Southwest: Bibire Urges Calm, Prayer as PDP Reconvenes Thursday

Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro, popularly known as Bibire has appealed to his supporters to remain calm and prayerful ahead of the rescheduled Peoples Democratic Party meeting slated for Thursday, April 23, 2026.

The appeal followed the outcome of a high level meeting convened by Governor Seyi Makinde to facilitate the emergence of candidates for various elective positions across the state.

At the meeting, decisions were reached for some constituencies, but deliberations concerning Oyo South Senatorial District and Ibadan Northwest Ibadan Southwest Federal Constituency were stepped aside.

Sources at the meeting disclosed that the governor observed certain issues that required further consultations, leading to the decision to reconvene and continue the process on Thursday.

Addressing his supporters shortly after the development, Bibire urged them to remain peaceful, focused, and committed to the party.

He also called for prayers, and expressed confidence that the next round of deliberations would produce an outcome that will stand in tandem with the yearnings of the people.

The compassionate politician also reaffirmed his trust in the process being coordinated by Governor Makinde, noting that the exercise is designed to ensure fairness and credibility.

He gave assurance that the final decision would reflect the genuine aspirations of party members and the wider electorate.

The leading aspirant further stated that he remains the most prepared for the task, pointing to his longstanding grassroots relations, uninterrupted humanitarian efforts, and consistent presence across the federal constituency.

He made notable his track record of service, direct engagement with communities, and his perpetual endeavours in strengthening party structures across the 23 wards.

Bibire also referenced his contributions to previous electoral successes and his commitment to sustaining the party’s dominance in the federal constituency.
