Hon. Alatise Facilitates Solar Street Lights For Ward 5, Lauds Akande’s Impactful Leadership

The Councillor representing Ward 5 in Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Alatise Kazeem Abiola, has facilitated the installation of solar powered street lights across strategic locations within the ward as part of efforts to improve public safety, enhance night time movement, and support ongoing community development.

The project, which has been completed and put into use, has brought relief to residents in benefiting areas, many of whom have relayed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and beneficial to the security and wellbeing of the community.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Alatise said the installation of the solar street lights was informed by the need to make public spaces safer, discourage criminal activities, and improve visibility in areas that were previously poorly brightened.

According to him, security begins at the community level, stressing that a well beamed environment boasts the confidence of residents, supports lawful businesses, and makes it more difficult for criminal elements to operate unnoticed.

He added that the project is another demonstration of his commitment to delivering practical representation and responding to the needs and concerns brought to him by people within the ward.

Hon. Alatise equally commended the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Akande, for providing purposeful leadership and creating an enabling environment where people-centred projects can flourish across the local government.

The Councillor also appreciated the support and cooperation of community leaders, youth groups, market men and women, and residents whose encouragement contributed to the successful completion of the project.

He assured the people of Ward 5 that he would continue to pursue initiatives that directly improve their living conditions, promising that the installation of the solar street lights would not be the last intervention under his representation.

Hon. Alatise further called on residents to protect the facilities from vandalism and to see them as community assets provided for the benefit of everyone, noting that public infrastructure can only serve its purpose when properly maintained by those it is meant to serve.

He reaffirmed his resolve to continue working with the leadership of the local government and other relevant stakeholders to attract more developmental projects that will improve security, support economic activities, and make Ward 5 a better place for all.
