Oseni Unveils N280m Digital Learning Hubs

The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Aderemi Oseni, has launched a N280 million smart learning intervention programme aimed at equipping students in Oyo South Senatorial District with digital skills and modern learning opportunities.
The initiative, known as the Remi Oseni Smart Learning Intervention (ROSMA) Legacy Programme, introduced a network of Artificial Intelligence powered learning hubs designed to expose secondary school students to emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, coding and digital literacy.
Oseni, during the commissioning of the first batch of the learning hubs in Ibadan, said the project was created to prepare young Nigerians for a technology driven future by providing them with access to modern educational tools and mentorship opportunities.
The programme is expected to cover nine local government areas across Oyo South Senatorial District, with the hubs serving as centres where students can acquire technology skills, improve academic performance and gain exposure to global digital opportunities.
The lawmaker said the intervention would also support students preparing for major examinations, including the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), National Examinations Council (NECO) and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), through additional learning support.
Oseni said the initiative was driven by the belief that investment in knowledge and technology remained critical to preparing the younger generation for future challenges and opportunities.
The smart learning hubs are expected to bridge the digital divide by giving students, particularly those in underserved communities, access to resources that can improve their competitiveness in science, technology, engineering and mathematics related fields.
The development comes amid growing efforts across Nigeria to expand digital education and equip young people with technology based skills, with government education programmes also focusing on artificial intelligence, coding and digital innovation.
Education stakeholders have continued to emphasise the need for more technology focused learning centres as Nigeria seeks to build a workforce capable of competing in the global digital economy.
The ROSMA Legacy Programme is expected to serve as one of the major education interventions in Oyo South, providing students with access to digital tools, mentorship and skills that extend beyond conventional classroom learning.
