N500,000 Wage Opposition Is Wickedness — Sowore
The 2027 African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has described opposition to his proposed N500,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers as “wickedness” that has become an economic policy.
Sowore made the statement in a post on X, where he criticised Nigerians who oppose the proposed wage.
He claimed that some people earning as much as N30 million monthly are among the loudest critics of the proposal.
Sowore also faulted some low-income Nigerians for defending the argument that paying workers N500,000 would cause inflation.
“₦30 million for them is acceptable, but ₦500,000 for a Nigerian worker is inflationary?
“Wickedness has become an economic policy!” Sowore wrote.
