Suswam Makes Case for Tinubu Amid Hardship

Former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam has acknowledged the economic hardship confronting Nigerians but urged citizens to support President Bola Tinubu for another term, arguing that the administration needs more time to consolidate its policies and lay a foundation for future prosperity.
Suswam made the appeal on Friday at the PBAT Door-to-Door rally in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, where he called on Nigerian youths to vote massively for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“Come next January, you will vote massively for this man so that he can consolidate on these policies for your own future. Do not listen to any propaganda that people are churning out. There is suffering now, but there is no way you can build a future without experiencing some pains; we must experience those pains for us to be better tomorrow.
“If we had taken those same steps earlier, we would not have found ourselves where we are today. Tinubu has taken them, so please let us allow him to continue for the next four years. He will consolidate on the policies and hand over to somebody who will build on them,” Suswam said.
The former governor also commended the initiative behind the door-to-door mobilisation campaign, which he attributed to Tompolo, urging supporters to extend their outreach beyond the rally venue to their communities and households.
“Let me appreciate what Tompolo has decided to do by setting up door-to-door mobilisation. When you return, understand that voting and campaigning are not about gathering like this. Go back to your local government and village, speak to your parents and brothers about the door-to-door campaign, so they can reason and understand what Tinubu is doing for the future of this country,” he added.
Suswam also explained that his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) was driven by his desire to be on what he described as the right side of history, particularly in the efforts to establish a foundation for future generations.
“I was one of those who were not in the APC, but when I saw what was happening, I decided that I should not be left behind. When history is written, let it be recorded that Suswam was among those who supported Tinubu in building a solid foundation for the younger generation of this country.
“I believe all well-meaning Nigerians should give the President the support he needs so that we can have a better country tomorrow,” he maintained.
Reaffirming his support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Suswam said the administration’s policies were intended to benefit younger Nigerians in the long term, despite the economic difficulties being experienced in the present.
“We support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his courage, as well as what he is doing for the younger generation of this country. What is happening now is for you. Yes, there are traces of hardship, but tomorrow you will be better off for it, so let us support Tinubu for 2027,” he submitted.
