Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming Lagos State governorship election.

In a statement on Wednesday, Jandor explained that his decision aligns with the APC’s official stance on direct primaries for candidate selection.

“I have formally picked up my Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the upcoming elections, in line with the party’s current position on direct primaries,” Jandor said.

He acknowledged the endorsements given to other aspirants by party elders but reaffirmed that he remains committed to the APC’s official directive on direct primaries.

Jandor further pledged his support for any alternative arrangement the party may adopt, stating, “If the party opts for another method, as outlined in the Electoral Act 2026, I will respect the party’s supremacy and align accordingly.”

The former 2023 PDP governorship candidate, who has now joined the APC, emphasized that leadership is built on more than just rhetoric.

“The trust of the people is earned through consistent engagement and dedication to the common good,” he added.

Jandor’s move comes amid growing competition within the Lagos APC ahead of the 2027 election, where the state’s Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has already secured endorsements from President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Jandor said his decision to contest stems from a desire to contribute to the democratic development of Lagos and the country as a whole.

He called for collective effort to achieve national goals, stressing that “it’s time to do the work deliberately, diligently, and together.”
