Makinde Intensifying Efforts To Sustain Peace In Oyo — Bibire Reassures Residents

The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, has reassured residents of Oyo State that the present administration under the able leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde remains fully committed to protecting lives and property amid recent security concerns recorded in parts of the State.

The retired US Army veteran made the statement while responding to recent security developments in Ogbomosho.

Bibire urged residents to remain calm, law abiding, and continue cooperating with security agencies, stressing that Governor Seyi Makinde is working closely with relevant security institutions to ensure durable peace and public safety across Oyo State.

According to him, the Governor has continued to prioritize security through strategic support for security agencies, intelligence sharing, logistics, and coordinated efforts directed at addressing emerging threats.

He stated that recent developments have once again shown the importance of sustained collaboration between government, security agencies, and members of the public in preserving peace.

Bibire noted that while isolated incidents may create concern among residents, ongoing interventions by security operatives have continued to demonstrate the State’s readiness to confront criminal activities and restore normalcy where necessary.

He commended the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun Corps, and other stakeholders for their sacrifices and commitment to safeguarding communities across Oyo State.

The Governor’s Adviser added that the forthcoming inauguration and office commissioning of the Violent Crimes Response Unit of the Nigeria Police Force in Oyo State further confirms deliberate efforts by the government and security authorities to strengthen response to violent crimes and improve public safety.

“Governor Seyi Makinde understands clearly that development can only be sustained in an atmosphere of peace and security and that is why this administration has remained consistent in supporting security agencies operating in the State,” Bibire said.

He added that the planned inauguration of the Unit should reassure residents that proactive measures are continually being introduced to strengthen the security architecture of Oyo State.

“This administration will continue to do everything necessary within its capacity to support security agencies because the safety of our people remains a priority. Therefore, I want to urge all residents to remain calm and continue to provide useful information to security operatives,” he added.
