Oyo APC Commends Members for Peaceful Conduct During Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has praised members for their peaceful and mature conduct throughout the recent primary elections.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, in a statement, acknowledged some complaints from aspirants and stakeholders but stressed that no individual would be overlooked in the party’s processes.
Sadare described most complainants as progressive-minded individuals committed to democracy and good governance.
He said the successful conduct of the governorship primary, which produced a candidate from 11 cleared aspirants, set the tone for APC’s preparation for the 2027 elections.
Sadare added that the party had demonstrated its commitment to deepening democracy by involving grassroots members in the selection of candidates for the polls.
Members of Oyo APC were lauded for their maturity and dedication in choosing candidates for the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and Governorship elections.
Political watchers who doubted any party’s ability to conduct hitch-free direct primaries were said to have been proven wrong by the party’s execution of the exercise.
The leadership emphasized that, as democrats, only one candidate could secure the party ticket in any contest, and members would support the overall success of APC regardless of individual outcomes.
Sadare confirmed that a post-primary reconciliation drive was underway to ensure all stakeholders were on board for the party’s electioneering efforts.
The statement concluded that APC in Oyo State is focused on delivering at least a million votes to President Bola Tinubu in January and returning the party to the Agodi Government House on May 29, 2027.
