BREAKING: Former AGF Malami Becomes ADC Governorship Candidate in Kebbi

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has officially emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made through a statement released by Mohammed Bello Doka, who serves as Malami’s Special Assistant on Media.
According to the statement, Malami’s candidacy followed extensive consultations with party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters throughout Kebbi State as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 elections.
In response to the endorsement, Malami expressed gratitude to party members and supporters, acknowledging the confidence and trust they have placed in him.
“I sincerely appreciate the confidence and support shown by leaders, stakeholders, and supporters of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Kebbi State ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.
The statement also highlighted the emergence of other ADC candidates for the state’s senatorial positions, including retired Major General Aminu Bande for Kebbi Central, retired Deputy Comptroller General Ibrahim Muhammad Mera for Kebbi North, and Garba Danjuma Limi for Kebbi South.
The party emphasized its commitment to advancing good governance, justice, security, and sustainable development both in Kebbi State and across Nigeria.
Malami, who previously served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, is set to challenge incumbent Governor Nasir Idris of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 governorship election.
Political observers and residents will be closely watching the race as campaigns gain momentum, with ADC supporters hoping that Malami’s experience and legal background will give the party a competitive edge.
